To go from J.J Abrams to James Cameron is such a wonderful opportunity. It’s beautiful because you know that [Avatar]’s going to be something special and very amazing. It took him 10 years between projects because he works so hard and pays attention to detail. It’s undenialably exquisite. That’s pretty much what attracted me.”

I guess it was inevitable. Jim Cameron could be sued over Avatar before its release:

Like the reporter, I don’t think the Delgo creators have a strong case.
Now, if the plantiffs were connected to “Battle for Terra,” then Cameron might have some problems:
