Zapt!

“The great thing with working with Tokyopop is we’re able to do a great kids story that has a lot of the kid empowerment mythos that drew us to comics and they have the ability to get it to the bookstores and libraries where kids are more apt to discover it. Manga is doing a great job right now of reaching a whole new crowd of kids interested in the format of comics even if they aren’t interested in superheroes. As creative types it’s all just storytelling to Keith [Giffen] and me so it didn’t really bother us that Zapt! became a ‘manga’. It’s still just words and pictures. Zapt! Volume 1 tells the story of 12-year-old Armand as he juggles homework, bullies, and intergalactic police work, all while still trying to enjoy recess. Zapt! Volume 2, out in March, is a continuation of that. That’s the nuts and bolts. Speedlines and zipatone are just a byproduct of the format.”

Okay! First off, this is an amazing comic book that I totally recommend for any age. It has adventure, romance, and some silly typical cartoon like jokes. Its artwork done by Armand Villavert is spectacular! He has many ranges of aliens and characters in this book its just mind blowing just how creative this man can get with his artwork. Both children and adults will find it entertaining because I most certainly did. It’s hard now a day to find a comic book for all ages to like or even appropriate for younger children. Today everything is so violent and or has the “F” word every other sentence. But not this book. Okay it has a Good VS Evil theme to it but what doesn’t now a days and it is a good thing to really have the children get into. It opens up there mind to great adventures and creativity. I so rate this comic an “A” for Amazing! Wow that sounded corny.
