I strongly disagree with you about Doors of Chaos. It's one of those stories explained with time and you can't possibly expect to understand everything about an imaginary world in the first volume. The characters develop their personalities slowly and naturally. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the shojo genre but is tired of all the fluffy stuff. It's an entertaining fantasy adventure in cute clothes. Though of course if you need a front up explanation for everything in the first two pages I suggest you find something else.

I did say I was going to cut down, and I did! Though...I would have liked to have gotten Dominion Conflict though. I only have the original series that was released by Eclipse back in 1989, and would like to see a good translation unflipped. And Dokkoida. We're also fans of tokusatsu/ultraman shows and that one just looks sooooo cute....

Only three? Wow, that's restrained!

Dark Metro was a total surprise. It didn't look like something I'd enjoy, but it turned out to be very entertaining in a B-movie sort of way.

And yes, you're right--A would have made a good answer, too!

Only three for this week, one being the long awaited Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo! I cheated and read this in scanalation, but I'm still buying it. I love this series that much!

I thought Dark Metro looked interesting, but had no hope for Doors of Chaos. I ought read Canon some day. I have the whole series, I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

And I think (a) would have been just as good of an answer! Who can think of Tokyo and NOT think of Godzilla? I can just see Count D with his net, searching the docks for him... :)
