This just seems so wrong. I bet you would not post a group shot from playgirl of Link, Solid Snake, Sam Fisher, Mario, Col. Shift, Kratos, and Master Chief all naked showing off their penises because that would be frowned upon. Ever heard of equality, this is not it. This is a huge double standard, and it is just plain wrong. You just set gaming back a whole decade.

Setting back gaming is the least of it! This is worse than Aki Ross from the Final Fantasy movie making Maxim’s Hot 100!!

I think the reason they wouldn’t post a group shot on Playgirl of male gamer figures is because the majority of women who “read” them won’t give a shit. I don’t think most women would get excited over fictional male gaming figures the same way men would.

They totally set back gaming for years!! All of our hard work and struggle to overcome oppression; in our basements and living rooms, playing for hours and hours in order to earn equal rights, better working conditions, and the right to vote! I don’t know how the gaming movement will ever recover from this devastaing blow!

MR. E: first of all, posting this doesn’t mean i think it was a great idea or anything like that, it was simply to point it out and bring it up for discussion.

that said, i guess marvel and dc wouldn’t do this, but i wonder if someone like top cow would? you would think not because they would want to seem “legit” and retain the possibility of making movies or videogames from their characters — but here we have game characters nude in playboy and i’m sure those companies aren’t worried about that. well granted they’re in a different position, but it’s funny to think about…

Yeah, I see there being no real negative effect on the gaming industry, they’ve survived worse. I’m just saying, it’s computer generated naked chicks in Playboy!! This isn’t like hiring live women to model as Tomb Raider, it’s full-on computer generated images showcased in the magazine as if they’re actual people. It’s stupid.

Wow, this is so sad. Now everyone will have the impression that gamers are pathetic wankers, who while away their free time hunched over either a gaming console or an old sock. Why they would think that is beyond me.

Are you fucking retarded? Jesus, why the hell to people get so uptight about some virtual titties? What does this have to do at all with equality? What the hell are you smoking? How is this significant enough to “set gaming back a whole decade”?

You may want to stop talking completely out of your ass, but in order to do that, you have to remove your head from it.

Well, if these women were showing their vagina’s then maybe the penis argument would stand. If you want to be fair, then by all means, I hope they print a “Guys of videogames” and have them showing JUST AS MUCH as these women…nothing more.

I love when uneducated assumptions are made.

It should be noted, first off, that this isn’t the first time Playboy has done this. Rather, it’s the third. The first outing in 2004 featured Bloodrayne as the star attraction and loose filler to fill the pages. The second was an inadvertent promo piece for the Playboy Video Game and some more C-Grade filler. The leading lady this time around is from, what, Tabula Rasa? A barely followed game on a dying platform. Oh god! What are we to do?!

For the last five years, Play Magazine has published a Girls of Gaming magazine featuring the year’s starlets in skimpy outfits. Clearly the industry has been suffering for those five years. Ignore the fact that gaming has entered the main stream media. Ignore that gaming league tournaments outsell sporting events on a regular basis. Ignore that there is no such thing as a stereotypical gamer anymore. Between Madden NFL and the Nintendo Wii, ‘gamers’ run the range from jocks to grandparents to cute girls to even those ‘basement dwellers’ people tend to THINK people associate solely with video gaming. That’s about as clueless as you can get.

Pictorials like these don’t set gamers back. Kids who believe these things set gamers back do. And if you find it offensive, the answer’s just the same: don’t read it.

I know it sounds crazy, but trust me. It can work.

I agree fully with invader. There’s no need to get uptight about one article in a magazine that most of you don’t even read. Let it go.

It is not setting back gaming, and it actually seems to be getting worse, but it is completely unnecessary. Why can’t girls in games ever just be useful and not dumb skanks. and wearing the armor that they wear? how does that protect anything!!1 GOD!! once i’m done college and out working, I’ll try to get whatever company I’m working for to change the “standard”

What the fuck? InvaderGir83 and Areyouretarded, whoever the fuck that is, strabgely are the only ones who have left comments that don’t sound like half-wit retarded shit that definitley needs some more scrutinizing. Seriously, if you’re going to bitch about hot “videogame” chicks who aren’t “real” and are “stupid being in Playboy” there are a few things that says about you: You’re a fag and obviously disdain tits just because they’re not real, and if you really are a guy you should only care that they are tits on a chick whether they’re real or not: 2, these are fucking hot-ass CG vixens and I, and I’m sure lots of pther people who play the games they are in, would like to see ‘em naked and showing more than their tits: 3, who the fuck cares, seriously, the videogame companies probably commissioned Playboy, and if not, Playboy got their permission, to display their beautiful babes topless to generate more popularity from male readers and provide a treat for those lonely people and fucking jackasses who wouldn’t ever be able to see their favorite heroine or villainous vixen naked otherwise (like the fucking jerky little bitches who are bombing the Playboy ruse, you all can go suck Master Chiefs fucking cock!). Anyways, I personally hope they continue to do what Playboy does best, and that is showcase fine -ass chicks, real or not. Now, let’s see Krystal from Starfox Adventures, a real vixen……..

Equality? I don’t think full frontal would be that sexy on the women or the men. Note that none of these women are showing any genitals. Also note that Kratos spends the entirety of his games topless. OK, so a breast isn’t the same as a chest. And yet, not only would a spread of Mario’s penis not be “equality” either, it is also not something that should really ever be discussed again.

@Mr. E -
Sounds like someone wants to see a Penis.
Women are Sexy. Women are the more Complexed Bodies of the two Sexes. More Women admit that a Womans body is beautiful compared to a Mans. You want equality? Go **** yourself. Nothing involving a Man and Women is ever equal because when you try to make a Women equal in ALL things, they get mad about certain things that you no longer do for a Woman as a “Gentleman”.

Btw. No one wants to see Naked Men.
