Sometimes the storylines for the adults were more enjoyable than the teenagers. It wasn't like the 'rents were superfluous like on 90210. I still love how they got rid of Brandon's parents; "Hi, Brandon! Your mother and I moved to China while you were on summer break! See you at Christmas!" LOL!! (I'm paraphrasing, of course, but there in fact was an episode where Brandon came home and his parents had already moved to China). But the thing with the O.C. was they waited too long to kill off Marissa. If they had done it in the first season when she O.D.'ed in Tiajuana, that would have just opened up a whole world of story possibilities. It may have been too little, too late, but the show really came around after she died. Hey now, I actually liked The O.C.
