I don’t understand why you geeks hate it so much.
I like it alot actually.
It’s nothing really new, but it’s a great read imo.

All i care about so far is if Crawler survived.
I like Finch’s art, but I have serious reservations about where the story is going to.

Actually, Jeph Loeb began his destruction of the Ultimate Universe with Ultimates 3 … and given the level of crap that Ultimatum is, I assume it’s (sadly) going well underway.

Thanks for the info. But that kind of sucks because I thought one of the few interesting things here was going to be finding out how Mags got the hammer, but if that was already explained in Ultimates 3 then that’s one less reason to check out Ultimatum lol. Ah well, guess that’s what we get for not reading Ultimates 3. Or in my case, giving it a try and promptly giving it up after the first couple issues…

Magneto got Thor’s Hammer in Ultimates 3 #5. Thor wanted to get it back but Valkyrie (IIRC) prevented him.

Well, Thor has several hammers and weapons to spare (as shown in a panel in Ultimates 3), including the one he wielded in Ultimates Vol 1 and 2.

I actually thought this issue wasn’t bad — but then I remembered Jeph Loeb was writing it and realized that the last panel’s “It gets worse” is probably very true in ways Marvel never intended :(

I do think 616 and Ultimate U aren’t different enough anymore and I’m looking forward to seeing what Marvel has in store, especially Millar’s Ultimate Avengers — but like the review mentions, Loeb’s track record isn’t inspiring any confidence in Ultimatum itself.
