The Ultimates Face The Brotherhood—‘Nuff Said!

They’ve lost one of their own, but the Ultimates must now contend with the full wrath of The Brotherhood! In the red-hot Ultimates 3 #2 (of 5), from the dream team of Eisner-Winning, Emmy-nominated author Jeph Loeb and the acclaimed art team of Joe Madureira & Christian Lichtner, the action packed thrill ride kicks it up a notch as Spider-Man and another familiar face join the fray. How will the team react to last issue’s shocking conclusion that has the Internet buzzing? Just why has the Brotherhood decided to launch an all-out offensive at this time? And Valkyrie versus…Thor? Wrapped up in two stunning covers—one by Madureira & Lichtner, the other by superstar Michael Turner—this is the action-packed extravaganza no Marvel fan can miss!

“Ultimates 3 is off to a very good start,” gushed Jon Judy of SilverBulletComicBooks.Com. “A real fun read…Loeb and Madureira handle this brilliantly.”

“We are in for one heck of a thrill ride,” said Marc Haines of ComicInfo.News.

As out of place as Mad’s manga is in the more grounded Ultimate universe, especially as a follow up to Hitch’s photo referenced style. I think Loeb’s writing is every bit as much of a departure.

Seriously, how long did it take you to read the first issue, 7 or 8 minutes? Was it worth your $3.99 to see those minutes filled with everyone wildly out of character? It practically retcons itself if it feels like an entirely different universe. We’ll dub the Ultimates 3 Universe “Earth minus 1″

Millar and Hitch say they’d like to go back to the series someday. After this is through, they won’t even be able to.

And I was defending it for the longest time to other comic friends, adopting a ‘wait and see’ attitude. But Marvel may have well as subtitled it “The Phantom Menace” because it’s so bad it detracts from my enjoyment of the originals. Now I wish I hadn’t waited or seen.

Looks like crap. Marvel really screw up on this one.

Amazing, much loved comic book that’s selling like hot cakes? Yeah, makes perfect sense to drastically change everything.

Millar and Hitch, Millar and Hitch, Millar and Hitch. Get the f*** over it! It’s not them anymore. The artwork is badass no matter what you guys say. It’s not a novel it’s a freaking comic. I wanted to see action and that’s what this title delivered.

WoW… this realy looks good. i’ll buy this just to read the pics. the fact that its different from ultimates 1 and 2 is a good thing in my eyes. it gives us a different pace and a new subject to focus on. anyway saying how bad this is from the other issues will only get this cancelled not improved.

Peace

I would much rather wait years for the original creative team to come back then to see whats going on now. the first two arcs were perfectly executed. character driven with just enough action and perfectly timed huge moments. this is like x-men the last stand type schmitt, throw all your characters in one place and have them fight. no ones ever thought of that before i guess. the art used to flow with the writing and vice versa. now it seems so rushed. the book used to be so good that i would wait patiently for it to come out cause i knew it would be worth it. now, not so much. sad thing i only collect ultimate marvel now and that was my main book.
