We’ve got a “Top 5 Reasons Adama Should Run for President in 2012″ piece scheduled to coincide with Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, the two hour BSG prequel DVD hitting shelves October 27. Meanwhile over at Maxim, they do their part promoting with a Tricia Helfer & Grace Park cover story. But is it just me, or are the BSG babes not looking as hot here as you were hoping for? Check the pics after the jump and call me an idiot in the comments.
Bear in mind that I’ve always thought Grace Park was more attractive as the hot tomboy type in the show than when I’d see her glammed up in various magazines. Even so, her previous Maxim feature was fairly hot. Generally, you kind of expect a minimum standard with Maxim, don’t you?
But sadly, the girls’ encore appearance here (November issue) is just okay. I mean, Grace Park doesn’t even look like herself in some of these shots, does she? Again, feel free to disagree in the comments.
Looks aside, though, the ladies do talk a good game:
“Since the new Battlestar movie is coming to DVD before TV, can we expect some R-rated action?
Tricia Helfer: There will certainly be a lot more explicit action on the DVD. And I refuse to have a body double, so you will see a little bit of skin from me as the Six character. There’s also a new character you’ll see in some very intense sex scenes.
Grace Park: Yeah, there’s going to be a T & A version. Though maybe I should say T, C & A, because it’s not just girls this time…”
Sex scenes or no, I’m totally looking forward to The Plan! Note that SyFy won’t be showing it until 2010, so the DVD/download release will be the only way to see the film until then!

Helfer’s always come off as an acquired taste for me, not that I’d kick her outta bed for eatin’ cookies, or anything. If anything, dye her hair black, curl it up like ram horns, and you’ve got the perfect Aeon Flux.
The pics could probably stand to be a bit more flattering, but at the same time, it’s kind of nice that they don’t look absolutely perfect. You get the impression that they didn’t employ a lot of airbrush trickery or heavy make-up treatment.

Hmm, I don’t know about the lack of airbrushing. Maybe for me (and only me?) it’s still mostly the fact that Grace doesn’t look like Grace to me in half of them.
