You loved Maurice Sendak’s book when you were a kid and you’re going to seeing Spike Jonze’s adaptation this weekend, so why not give in to your inner child and complete the Where The Wild Things Are media trifecta with some cool toys for grown folks? Skate decks, kicks and of course, vinyl figures.

First off, what other movie out there is going to have limited editon tie-in merch put out by the director’s skateboard company? Boards by Girl Skateboards Company, co-founded by Jonze.
Kicks By Lakai. Apparently these are from a 2008 collection, but hey, if you were up on your designer sneakers you wouldn’t need me to point them out.
And lastly, the requisite Where The Wild Things Are vinyl figures, by Medicom. At $35 each, these are probably the only things listed here that are relatively inexpensive. All currently available at Midtown Comics.
