The Green Hornet To Drive Cardboard Car

And now, your most WTF news of the day, via Deadline Hollywood:
Michel Gondry is directing The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen and Stephen Chow (possibly).
Yes, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Michel Gondry. The most whimsical director in Hollywood is making the quirkiest super-hero movie since, er, The Spirit I guess. Now, a couple of facts for you guys:
- Gondry actually worked on a version of The Green Hornet in the ’90s, but never got it off the ground.
- There’s a long history of wack-a-doo directors calming down for mainstream, big budget action movies. Did you know David Lynch almost directed Return of the Jedi? True story.
- I have no other facts.
The question remains, though… Does this news make you look forward to The Green Hornet more, less, or the same amount?

Well, it would make me go from not seeing the Green Hornet at all to maybe seeing it, so more, I guess.

Reminds me of the rumors of Jack Black playing Green Lantern.

I think films need great directors across the board, nerd based or not, so now I’m looking forward to seeing The Green Hornet way more than I ever was. Gondry rules.
