Electronic Arts, BioWare and LucasArts gives the gaming community the biggest of teases on Star Wars: The Old Republic to date: An actual release date! The MMO that almost everyone wants to play is set for release December 20 for North America and December 22 for Europe. Accompanying the date for TOR, the game’s pricing structure has also been revealed.

With the purchase of Star Wars: The Old Republic, gamers will receive a free month of online play that comes with the game. Once over, gamers can elect for payment plans which start at $15 for a single month, $42 for three months or $78 for six months. If you’re thinking this all sounds similar to the structuring of World of Warcraft, who can blame you? WoW is practically the direct competition for TOR.

If you are a follower of Mass Effect on Facebook, you were probably there when this statement went live yesterday: Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations. Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series delivered the news (along with some screenshots) of the highly anticipated sci-fi sequel to one of the greatest games this console generation.

Most likely, the delay is all for the best. ME3 isn’t probably a game that has a lot to fear for sales from the upcoming holiday rush, but the extra time for quality control will make sure that the Mass Effect series goes out with a huge bang.

“Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer for the Mass Effect series. “Partnering with FUNimation ensures that we will bring this rich universe to life with the utmost quality and the same attention to detail that the Mass Effect games are known for.”

Production of the Mass Effect anime movie has already begun. Digital and home video releases are scheduled for the summer of 2012.

The Dragon Age: Origins DLC pack, “Witch Hunt” ($6.99 on PlayStation® Network, 560 Microsoft points on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, 560 BioWare Points on PC) features a story that reconnects players with one of the series’ original larger-than-life heroes, Morrigan. The Mass Effect 2 DLC pack, “Lair of the Shadow Broker” (800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360, 800 BioWare Points on PC), centers around Liara, a popular character and squadmate from the original Mass Effect.

Dragon Age: Origins “Witch Hunt” picks up Morrigan’s story after the defeat of the Archdemon and her disappearance into the shadows. Nearly a year has passed since the Archdemon’s death, and word has reached the Wardens that Morrigan has returned to Ferelden. Seeking to confirm her presence and confront her about her mysterious disappearance, players will head into the forest to tie up this last loose end once and for all.

In Mass Effect 2 “Lair of the Shadow Broker”, Liara T’Soni is tracking down the mysterious Shadow Broker with the hopes of recovering a kidnap victim. Liara enlists the help of Commander Shepard and his crew, chasing clues from the luxurious heights of Illium to the depths of the Shadow Broker’s own secret lair. The new DLC pack adds the Shadow Broker intel center, new research, as well as the chance to continue a relationship with Liara from the original Mass Effect.

Gamers have been anticipating the inclusion of the Mass Effect series to the PlayStation system for months since BioWare become a division of EA Games and their patience finally pays off.

Titled Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening, the game will task players with rebuilding the ranks of the Grey Wardens as well as investigating how Dark Spawn are able to still terrorize the land without having an Archdemon to guide them.

Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening, BioWare’s next thread in the Dragon Age: Origins tapestry, occurs following the events of Dragon Age: Origins and puts players into the role of a Grey Warden Commander entrusted with rebuilding the order of Grey Wardens. In addition to rebuilding the ranks of the Grey Wardens, you will be tasked with uncovering the mystery of how the darkspawn survive after the slaying of the Archdemon. Players will be able to import their character from Dragon Age: Origins or start out as a new Grey Warden from the neighboring land of Orlais.

Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening will be available on March 16, 2010 for $39.99 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles in North America and will require Dragon Age: Origins to play.

With that, the launch trailer for Dragon Age: Origins was released today. Dragon Age: Origins releases in North America on November 3 for PC and Xbox 360 with a November 17 release on PS3.

The Collector’s Edition is a premium package available in limited quantities featuring exclusive Dragon Age: Origins collectibles including a unique steel case, a cloth map of the world of Dragon Age, a Making-of documentary DVD, a digital version of the Dragon Age: Origins soundtrack, game trailers, wallpapers, strategy tips and a concept art video, plus three exclusive downloadable items that will provide special advantages to the player.
