Singer’s Superman Sequel Delayed

It may be a little while longer before Bryan Singer’s follow-up to Superman Returns gets off the ground, according to Variety. Production will be delayed while Singer moves forward on a project to be produced by Tome Cruise and Paula Wagner through United Artists. The as-yet-to-be-titled thriller, set during World War II, will feature an ensemble cast, much like The Usual Suspects. Singer will also re-team with Suspects screenwriter Chris McQuarrie.
Singer has a pretty full plate as it is, including development on the Harvey Milk biopic The Mayor of Castro Street, as well as directing the pilot episode of Football Wives for ABC. The pilot is based on the popular BBC series Footballers’ Wives.
This is good news as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully this will give Kate Bosworth time to grow up and look like an adult. If we’re lucky, they’ll just pull a “Gyllenhaal” and recast her.
