Seth Rogen: The Green Hornet?

Posted by: on July 20, 2007 at 4:54 pm

Filing under “WTF?!?”, it seems Knocked Up star Seth Rogen is in final talks to write and star in Columbia Pictures big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet, according to Variety.

Several studios and filmmakers have been trying to get the project off the ground over the last decade, with Kevin Smith previously signed on to write and direct the film when it was set up at Miramax.

Not that I don’t love Seth Rogen (in a purely professional/creative way, of course), but how did his name end up in the potential pool of talent for this project? Maybe I’m underestimating his ability to branch out, at least in terms of writing. The main point of contention would just be the idea of Rogen playing the title character. ‘Cause that would be, uh. . . . interesting.
