SCOOP! Carol Burrell to adapt Butler’s ‘Kindred’

Posted by: Rich Watson on May 17, 2009 at 9:54 am

Got the news at ECBACC yesterday. Beacon Press will make the official announcement very soon, but they have found an artist for their graphic novel adaptation of Octavia Butler’s Kindred and it is SPQR Blues creator Carol “Klio” Burrell. She was at ECBACC yesterday and she told me herself. I think this is an excellent choice; Burrell’s style is reminiscent of Alison Bechdel and Raina Telgemeier, with a touch of Carla Speed McNeil, and I think it’ll go nicely with this story. More pending.
