yeah, that was okay. we need some more edge, like come on ,’ the most evil person’. most villians think they are the most evil. And why would then runaways agree to meet him anyway?

Eh…I miss Alphona’s art. Not saying Michael Ryan’s stuff is boring…but it just doesn’t have that youthful “pop.”

And I miss that crazy fashions that Alphona dressed them up in. Ryan couldn’t dress his way out of a wet paper sack.

I’ve been looking everywhere for a sneak peek at Runaways #25. I hate to say it, but I’m a bit disappointed. Ryan’s drawings are fine, but look flat and lifeless; I think it is because the lines are thicker than Alphona’s. Also, the character design of Molly, Chase, and Victor seem off to me. I suppose what it comes down to for me is the writing. A great story and better-than-average artwork is all I need. Whedon seems to have captured their voice pretty good, but how can you really tell from just one page. Chase seems a bit jolly for someone who’s girlfriend got murdered. Whatever. Whedon will probably be good.

I agree with noholzba; Alphona had a great style which I think suited Runaways more than Ryan. Mind you, with Alphona there was a lot of ‘growth’ in his work, so I can only hope that Ryan matures with time.

Some of the outfits look like they were ysed from issues before, cause im pretty sure that nico wore that dress before and chase has patches on his suit. He does seem a little too happy what happened to the guy that wass willing to give his…..oops alomst told. well artwork is okay i remember the artwork was like you could almost grab them off the pages oh well
also i liked it more while they were in california, now their just gonna be another marvel hero team in New York

Can’t agree with everyone anymore. While good, there’s nothing that really strikes you about the art. Alphona’s work really made me feel like I was reading something different, which is exactly the Runaways is. Well it is a good start and I’d give Ryan some time with the characters.

I really do want to see them back in LA.

And shouldn’t Victor be the one in awe of She-Hulk having dinner? I mean Chase didn’t care the first time he saw She-Hulk the last time they were in NY.

I’m sure they have a good reason for suddenly changing tatics, after all a preview is supposed to make you want to buy the book.

But I agree with the overall comments on the new artist. I mean, I’m glad Takeshi isn’t taking over, but Victor is supposed to be very handsome, where the new version of him has his face as long as a horse’s. Also, Chase is peaking on looking like a monkey. But the design of the page is very Marvel. It’s very professional, and it matches the new occasion that the Runaways are facing. Also, the amount of detail in the clothes, etc. is great; its neither crowded or overwhelming. I particularly enjoy the new twist on Nico’s outfit.
