It’s the eighth studio album from the Philly-based band, and between working their regular Kimmel night show gig and doing live shows for other artists, they’ve found time to evolve their sound. Or perhaps it’s retro? Either way, it’s a refreshing banger during this continuing resurgence of quality hip-hop.
“How I Got Over” is both the name of the single and the album due this October. Give it a listen after the jump, won’t you?

Yeah, when I heard this song, i was like…Dang this is what i’m talking about! This is soulful hip-hop music! The concept of the video is a little played out with all the various shots/references to “the hood” but the song is beautiful. It’s very refreshing to hear good hip-hop music again.
