Robert Downey, Jr. Armors Up For Iron Man

Posted by: on September 30, 2006 at 12:15 am

If the selection of Jon Favreau as the director wasn’t odd enough, Ain’t It Cool News reports that Robert Downey, Jr. has been chosen to play Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. Then again, who better to play a character that eventually develops a substance abuse problem?

Produced by Marvel Studios and being distributed by Paramount Pictures, Iron Man will begin filming next February, and is set for a May 2, 2008 release.

No way is a ny one who has dulled and dried under the spotlight… deserves the oppertunity to play an iconic character such as IronMan. The actor chosen to play the role should be someone new, If you’re argument is that they share common habits… thats those two and everybody else in this planet.
For example the characters of ones like spiderman and wolverine were played verywell by the underdogs(actors Toby mcguire and Hugh Jackmen) who NOW are superstardom they strive more to make the character more real n out there somewhere. Besides Prince jr. starting to look like he is in his 50’s . You know everyones scrarce about finding someone new and making a grade a movie sink like a stone but guess what thats what talent agents and audition judges are there and get paid for… Give these potrayel of legendary iconic characters to new and fresh hungry pioneers. Who would get a chance like Jackman… who was he b4 then… he was Van Helsing which should have been played by someone who is an underdog like he was. Swordfish and got to see HalleBerryfuloflavas tan lines… I’m rantin’ so i’m done
