RUMOR: Resident Evil 2 Remake? It’s possible, and you can chalk this up totally to rumor. The website slashgamer.com is running with the story that an unnamed Capcom representative at WonderCon admitted that SOMETHING was happening with Resident Evil 2.

Whether that something is as simple as a ‘wiimake’, i.e., a re-release of the original game outfitted with Wii controls, or something more substantial, is totally up in the air.

While fans have been begging Capcom to remake the classic Resident Evil games with the Resident Evil 4 engine, the more likely call (and honestly preferable in our mind) is a Gamecube-style Resident Evil 1/Resident Evil Zero pre-rendered update downloadable via PSN and? Xbox Live.

Again, this is all wishful thinking and speculation.? Here’s the curious post to decipher as you will.? Again, could be bullshot…but we’d put money down that Capcom’s up to something.

During a Q&A segment at the Resident Evil 5 Wondercon panel, Capcom was asked by an enthusiastic fan about a possible Resident Evil 2 remake. Mike Webster of Capcom decided to respond to the answer. He said, “Stay tuned, we absolutely understands that these are classic games,” and added, “Some announcements, that you will be very interested in [are on the way].”
