Jack is my web designer! He's also a MangaCast correspondent. It was great to get to meet Bridget, too!

You're right about the extremely young age of the attendees - I got this feeling like, "The age of the Pokemon Generation is over! The age of the Manga Generation has begun!"

Ali, it was great meeting you as well! My favorite part of the con was being able to meet and talk to so many people in the Artists Alley.

I really wish I had thought of going to the Secaucus train station instead. A 12 minute train ride?? Geez. Unfortunately, I was following the advice of a hotel staff member who told me that the bus was the quickest way to NY. I guess he suggested it because the bus stop was right across the street. Oh, well. Now I know for next time!

Tania:

Well, for what it's worth, *I* was delighted to have a chance to meet you at MangaNEXT, and as I said, I predict MANGAKA AMERICA will be Collins Design's best selling title for its season. It's a great piece of work.

But I read your webcomic and was so dismayed to read how much of a hassle you had going home. Taxis from Jersey to NYC are always an expensive proposition, and buses transit is, well, never quite my cup of tea, but New Jersey Transit rail is pretty easy--especially from Secaucus into NYC. You still get the hassle of getting to GCT to connect to your final destination, but I figure a 12 minute ride by rail from Secacus to NYC beats a 40 minute bus ride...

[...] It’s a Tania Del Rio lovefest! The artist behind Archie Comics’ successful OEL-manga revamp of Sabrina the Teenage Witch is the subject of an audio interview over at MangaCast (in M4A format); she’s also got write-ups of last weekend’s MangaNEXT convention, which she attended as a guest of honor, in both written and comics form. (Panel from Del Rio’s comic and ©2006 Tania Del Rio; all links courtesy of MangaBlog.) [...]
