Mania.com is reporting that Rachel McAdams (’Wedding Crashers’, ‘Sherlock Holmes’) is set to play Felicia Hardy, aka The Black at in Spider-Man 4. If true, what do guys you think? Better or worse than Scarlett Johannsen as Black Widow?
We can exclusively reveal that actress Rachel McAdams has met with the producers of the film for a major role. McAdams is said to be a top contender for the role of Felicia Hardy, known to comic fans as The Black Cat.
Our sources tell us that the Black Cat’s story fits well with Raimi’s Spider-Man formula, which always finds the villains troubling not only the costumed hero, but also becoming entangled in Peter Parker’s personal life as well.

I’m still baffled as to why Gwen Stacy wasn’t Felicia Hardy in Spider-Man 3 in the first place. To say nothing of the fact that McAdams is the blandest choice ever. . . .Next to Dunst as MJ. LOL!

Gwen Stacy not Felicia Hardy… wha? Confused there KK…
I liked Bryce Howard as Gwen, although I think she would have been a better MJ.
As for Rachel… Yaawwwwwn! She’s cute, she can act, I get it but she’s not Black Cat… I’m not looking past her acting chops. She’s just not the Black Cat for me. This was the role for ScarJo…
Who the hell is casting the women roles at Marvel Studios anyway? ScarJo as Black Widow? Meh. Liv Tyler as Betty..double meh (although she wasn’t terrible). Jessica Alba as Sue Storm? Sorry guys, another meh casting. She’s hot, but Dark Angel and SIn City are about the only things I can stand her in. Famke Jannsen was acceptable as Jean Grey, but there were better fits. Rebecca Romijin as Mystique… she was okay…Jennifer Garner as Elektra? oh… why do I bother.
The only women who have been casted well in the Marvel Studio films are: Gwenyth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Anna Paquin was a decent Rogue… and Kelly Hu was a good Lady Deathstrike. Again, no slight to those actresses who have played the roles, I just think there are so many good actresses who can act, who ALSO look the part.
I can’t wait to see how they F up the Enchantress… lemme guess… Ellen Page?
Seriously though, if she’s a character in the Thor Movie, is there anyone more suited to play the Enchantress than Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds)???

What I mean, Ernie, is that the way they portrayed Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3, it was pointless to make her Gwen Stacy. As important to the Spider-Man Mythos as she is, it’s kind of jacked up that when they decide to introduce her, she’s just there to be Peter’s side-ho while he has his black-suited identity crisis. All they really had to do was leave Bryce Dallas Howard blonde, re-do the one scene where she’s wearing the classic black head band, and she could have been any one. Especially since Felicia had a think for Spidey in the black suit in the comics. Why was Gwen Stacy so grossly underused, when they could have used a character who has closer ties with the comic story the film drew its inspiration from.

Well at least there’ll be someone to draw my gaze away from the car crash that is Kirsten Dunst.

KK don’t try to make sense of Spidey 3 and what should have beens. It’s a terrible movie that should have never had the Venom/Black Costume plot rammed into it. They obviously never thought they’d be making a Spidey 4 film when they did that so they crammed in as many Spidey touchstones as possible. Films should be kept simple have one major plot point with one MAYBE a second sub plot, but Spidey 3 had like three or four. Close out the Harry plot, do the Sandman by himself (or just use him to open up the film to show Spidey in the middle of fighting a bad guy) develop a love triangle story between MJ and Stacy or Hardy, or do the Black Costume/Venom storyline by itself. But don’t put all of those in one film!
As for Bryce, she should have been MJ, because she’s a much more believable theater/actress/model than Dunst who has her good days but should be nowhere near portraying an iconic role in Spidey films. Her acting isn’t that good to make up for the lack of look for the part.
