Prepping For My ‘Resident Evil 4′ Set Visit

In a few days, I will be facing zombies in the Canadian wild with my former Dungeon Master and current favorite fantasy author, Peat, as we visit the set of Resident Evil: Afterlife.
I’ve been a fan of the video games since the first installment on the original Playstation gave me goosebumps, and the first RE film kicks all kinds of ass. But I haven’t kept up with the most recent movie or game sequels, so I’ve been doing a bit of cramming to prepare for the trip. Thankfully, there are plenty of resources to aid me, like this video interview with director Paul WS Anderson discussing the new movie at Comic Con and these behind-the-scenes peaks at the film’s set, care of Anderson’s wife and the series’ star, Milla Jojovich.
While I plan to keep my eyes and ears wide for any exciting news about the movie, I won’t be on set in a spoiler-spy capacity. My travelling partner is in talks with Anderson about turning his novel–The Warded Man–into a movie, so priority #1 is to be on my best behavior to protect that relationship.
Priority #2 is to try to talk my way into being a zombie extra.

Regardless, I will be in a state of nerd shock, staring at my shoes and stammering my words if I get within restraining-order distance of Milla Jojovich or co-star Ali Larter, so I may be incapable of any quality scoopage. But I’ll try to work around this handicap so I can at least share some of the experience with you when I return.
