Pokémon Diamond (ポケットモンスター ダイヤモンド)

This game was released alongside Pokémon Pearl (ポケットモンスターパール) on September 28th, 2006. I bought the game on March 15th, 2007, I just couldn’t wait any longer for the US release. The last time I played a Pokémon game was when my younger brother gave me his GameBoy Color (the lime green one that I lost during a move).
The game in a way, is very simple and very “cute” if you want to go there and call it that. I like games that pay attention to little details, for example the bike. I love that bike more than anything…if not more than my Pokémons in game. I would ride it everywhere I go except indoors…because you simply “can’t” (T_T)…anyway I digress…This game is finally hitting the US on the 22nd of April. Yippee! One step closer to getting Pokémon Battle Revolution (ポケモンバトルレボリューション) here in US.
I’ve been playing the JP version since I bought it and I’m in about 42hrs, maybe 43hrs? I finally got my 8th badge so now I am on my way to “Victory Road” (official English translation I believe from past games…. it’s referred to as “Champion Road” in Japanese). All I’ve been doing is using all the special “outside of battle” moves that I gained from beating each gym leader to find treasures I have yet to collect from areas I didn’t have access to prior.
I really enjoy the game, not because it has cute pixelated monsters that you capture in a ball, but because the game is a very simple RPG and the characters aren’t annoying. The game has a lot of WiFi capabilities that you can indulge in. I have yet to test them all out since no one else would play the game with me. Maybe when the US version comes out, I can get my DS buddies to play with me. If they refuse, I will just taunt them with how my Pokémons can kick their asses any day, until they give in. Ah…see it’s working already…just got some evil eyes from Dylan Garret, our resident music guru… He also just denied it by saying “I don’t resort to such petty tactics” while giving me more evil eyes…

Second video (I’m on a roll!) of me riding around, but I stop inside the Gym to solve the water puzzle. I took this video after beating all the trainers and getting my badge so you won’t see the battle with the Gym Leader, Makishi.

Here are all the badges you get. I polished them up (see how they’re glittering?) for this money shot.
Tally’s “Trainer Card” it has all the info about you, such as your ID no. (which I think might be the same for everyone?), your character’s name, money, Pokemon seen, score, playing time, and the date you started.
Akagi (boss) awakens Dialga (he’s so cool looking). Professor Rowan and Hikaru tells you that you must stop Dialga or the world will be destroyed.
Team Galactic’s Mars and Jupiter step in, to block you from stopping Dialga. So you get into a double battle. Shigeru (my rival’s name) battles along side you. His Pokemons kind of suck though!
After the battle you see Akagi, ordering Dialga to unleash it’s ultimate power.
BUT what’s this??? The legendary Trio, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie that you saved earlier, just stopped Dialga from using his powers.
Now it’s time for you to kick Akagi’s ass! After you beat Akagi, you get to battle Dialga. You either have to defeat him or capture him with the ultra ball (hyper ball in japanese). I caught him after several resets and retries. He is really hard to capture.

So it’s official. I shall be upgrading to a DS on April 22nd. Wonder if they’ll have a Pokemon-branded version? I’m a sucker for that kind of thing!

Actually they do! You lucky little one you! It’s pretty too! I think it comes in the Onyx colored DS one?
Oh, that’s sweet! It doesn’t seem like it’s being released here yet, though. All I see is some collectible stylus they’re packaging with pre-orders of the game.

It’s really rare that it gets to be sold here, but honestly if they actually did a little research they will know that there are actually lots of American fans out there that would love for these kind of “special” edition DS.
You can order it from an import games retailer…but usually they run for a bit higher than regular DSes, but they come with the game I think.
So wait, I can buy that one and it will work with American versions of DS games? I thought it was like VCRs and the whole NTSC vs. PAL thing.

Believe it or not…DS can play any region! Isn’t that awesome? I bought the US DS and I just buy the JP games that I know we won’t get until months/years later. The DS is nifty…I wish the Wii was region-free too…
I think you can even change your JP DS as English default too. You get that option with the US version to change it to other languages. But yeah, no region lock on the DS.

hello my friend and I who live in the UK just purchased american versions of the game and work on the uk DS BUT what we would like to know is do you think it will work with an english version of Pokemon BR on an english WII .Cheers

I’m guessing from your usage of “english” here I’m assuming you’re referring to the EU version. The Wii has issues with region lock. So any Wii game you buy has to be specific to the region your Wii is, but of course this might not apply to DS connecting to the Wii.
Best case scenario: From what I know I don’t think it matters which DS version of Pokemon you have. It can be either JP, NA, EU or AU. I think you can still use your Pokemon on the Wii.
Worse case scenario: Nintendo wants to mess with us and they block the different region DS cartridges from working with your Wii because it has a different region code.
We can’t know for sure until we get the US Pokemon Battle Revolution to test out with my JP Pokemon Diamond near the end of June. I really hope that helped you some.

1. You already know this: you have to get to Sunnyshore City which is home of the 8th Gym Leader.

3. You have to beat and stop Dialga in order for this area to open up.
How do I open up Sunnyshore City? You need to go to Mt. Coronet’s south entrance via route 208. You will need surf, rock climb and rock smash. Also, this is where you will battle with Commader Jupiter, Mars and the boss Cyrus. I’m hoping you already freed the Legendary Trio or else you can’t pass through the sealed gate with their pictures on it. After you beat these three bosses, you will then have to fight Dialga (or Palkia). You will have to either defeat it for catch it. I recommend catching them because this will be your ONLY chance to catch a Dialga or Palkia. Please also make sure you have a LOT of Ultra balls (in Japanese they’re called Hyper balls). Dialga and Palkia are level 47 so I recommend being a little higher so you can withstand their attacks. After you beat Dialga or Palkia, go up pass the spot behind where you fought Dialga/Palkia to pick up the Adamant Orb/Lustrous Orb (respectively). This will boost up your new Legendary Pokemon.
After this battle, Sunnyshore City should be unlocked and ready for you to claim your 8th badge. Happy gaming! (^_^)b

leon: you need to talk to the old lady in Celestic Town. go into the cave north of the Pokemon center and the old lady will start talking to you about the Legendary Pokemon

kay guys i have same problem but its as follows:
i defeated the 7th leader, after that i went to “Valor LakeFront” and battled the team galaxy yes i battled with evry one of them in the lake there are lots of the fish pokemons ( forgot the name magicart i think ) the lake is dry no water in it. after that i went to Mt Coronet to the cave and as soon as i started i used surfe on the cave and went to the second floor in the cave, i searched evrything there and at the end of the cave there is a door witch i can’t open, in the cave there is no people just pokemons.
well thats what i’ve done what am i missing? where i have to go? have i done something bad? please tell me i would really apreciate it, i have been playin for 15 hours straight! and havn’t found anything please im desesperate!!!!

Did you guys go to Veilstone City like Commander Jupiter said at Lake Aucity? She mentions that the Team Galactic HQ is there (that big black building you couldn’t get into) that’s where the Legendary Trio are held captive. You must go there to free them.
After you beat Cyrus and Saturn at the HQ and free the Trio, you will have to go to Mt. Coronet next. Unless you take care of business at Mt. Coronet the 8th gym will not open.

Please go to Veilstone City with the BIG building all the way north of town with spikes coming out from it’s side. You will see a Team Galactic grunt outside and when you talk to him he will runaway and drop the key to the warehouse. That is how you get into that building.

Did you free the Legendary Trio in Veilstone City? After you defeat Cyrus and Jupiter you will press a BIG RED button that will free them. Also, after beating Cyrus he will tell you to go to Mt. Coronet.

It answer to the questions about the Grunt mane in Mt.Coronet who wont move out of the way. all you have to do is come out of that cave the way you came in. rock climb to the west and keepin walkin to the west, at the very end there is a cave entrance. you must go that way first

ANSWER to Lost Grunt problem!
1. Exit that cave.
2. There are two rock climbing tracks, one pointing NORTH and pointing WEST (LEFT).
3. Rock climb LEFT.
4. Keep walking as far LEFT as possible.
5. Go past all the patches of grass (and stairs), you should hit a dead end. If you look closely, there is a CAVE entrance on the bottom part of the screen.
6. ENTER CAVE.
I was stuck on this for almost 2 weeks, spent far too long trying to solve this.

i did beat that grunt that you find in pastoria, by the safari, and followed him up to that blocked off lake and beat him.

I need some help plz. I have the 7th badge and I’m in Veilstone City. I got the Storage Key from the guy outside of the building but I still can’t get through that stupit door in the Galactic’s base.

I heard that some others have the same problem with me but somehow they solve it. I my problem again is that I have the storage key from the guy outside of the HQ but when I am trying to open the door in the building it says The door is locked. A special key is needed. and the only option in my bag for the key is cancel. What I am going to do?

Did you use the key the guy at the main building dropped when you talk to him, at the door where you find the HM02 (that teaches you fly) in the warehouse? The key he dropped should open up that door and it will allow you to go through the basement to get another key from another grunt.

Please read the answers above. Comment #76 even gave you directions.
YOU DO NOT need to fight this guy and you can’t go pass him UNTIL you beat Dialga, because that’s when the grunts will leave the mountain.

To get mespiret ya just go talk to the pokemon mansion guy thensave it then turn it off then go 1 more day in the future and keep doing the same thing over and over then mespirit will get tired of waiting and will come some where in route 212 then if ya screw it up mespirt will flee

having trouble getting to the top of mt. coronet (i’m on the pearl version) and have 7 badges…. i have gotten up to the part where there is a painting on the wall on the second floor. after that point i tried going outside to use rock climb but all i found was an item. i have no clue where to go now and i think this is where i catch palkia! can anyone please help me?

i had the same probs. thing is i hav diamond…..but practicly the same.Ok now goto velistone city. Then goto the team galalctc HQ. Now dont goto to the one near the pokemon center.NO! u goto the one near the big building with a umbrella on da top. U go inside talk to the grunt and he says something like “quit following me & he leaves. WhEn he leaves leaves the storage key(NOT GALACTIC KEY!) U GO INSIDE. u open it with the key.then battle a few grunts.& now u reach the Hq near the poke centa.now u verse alot of grunts now.Then u beat evry one. u find a……GALATIC KEY!. then get out next go back in (not the way u came out)the entrance in da middle go in.den open da gate & eventually u beat cyrus and geta masta ball now goto mt.coronet.the painting is gone & ur on ur own now!
