With news of DC Comics relaunching their major superhero universe with #1′s for over 50 titles, as well as day and date release for comics in both digital and print form, myself, Howard, LeRon, and Reubin got together to talk about DC’s plans, and what it means for their overall comics universe.

Seems we really want all out for this one. Clocking in at just under two hours, this will mark our longest podcast since we started up again, and I’m certainly not saying that to gloat! But we just had that much to rap about. Between the return of the PlayStation Network, and everything that entails, to a lot of shake-ups in the television world, to the end of Smallville and NBC passing on Wonder Woman, we all really went the extra mile. So if you’re willing, put on a tiny hat and get your dance on with us!

Yes, it has been three weeks since Episode Five. I swear, I might actually have to hire someone to edit these joints! It’s hard work, America!!! Hard Work!!!

This week’s episode starts off with a bang! And you’ll never believe what happens next!! . . . . But I’m tell ya anyway! We get into a lot of comic property news this week, with Wonder Woman costume changes, reactions to the new Green Lantern footage, and a lot of discussion gettin’ into those Marvel anime series that are gonna be making their way stateside later this summer, and who will be providing voices. We’re also gonna get into that Parasite Eve: 3rd Birthday, and the return of The Rock at Wrestlemania. Awwwww DAMN! Let’s do this!

Forgive us for the long show this week, but we just had that much to talk about!

“They say you can only access 10% of your brain. This lets you access . . . ALL OF IT!”

It’s an interesting enough premise, that’s for damn sure, as Bradley Cooper finds himself becoming the “perfect version of himself” with the help of a little clear pill in Limitless.

Apologies for our truancy in regards to getting this new episode to you, the faithful listeners, as things have been especially busy lately. But we’re getting back on track now, and we must admit, we got a little stupid on this one! We went dumb like some street-dancin’ white chicks, I tell ya!

Yup, it’s that time again, people! I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I feel like we went straight bananas (Belafonte!) this week. What’chu think, Bill Duke?

This Week: Reubin and LeRon give us their impressions of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. We all share our opinions on the upcoming Mortal Kombat Web Series. Wonder Woman gets cast for the NBC Pilot. I have to educate Howard on the greatness of Shane Black. And I give my review of the new Liam Neeson movie, Unknown (call it Taken 2, if you must).

(This week’s episode features music from Kidz In The Hall and The 54)

One of the big questions we’ve been getting recently around here has been, “Y’all ever gonna do podcasts again?” And we apologize for taking so long to address it. But we’ve kept it in our minds, always hoping we could get our acts together, and get it done. It’s been a lot of trial and error, and this is still a bit of a “work-in-progress” for all of us. But enough about all that, dammit! ‘Cause we back!

It’s an abbreviated (and late!) show while Shola gets set up in his new place. However, special guest Arturo Garcia (hour42.com) discusses the woes of race in comics, Shola and Jon chat up more LOST theories as we lament the history of PopCultureShock, and what might’ve been. Kayode’s Kountdown introduces hip-hop fans to Educated Consumers.

PopCultureShock Radio Show, Episode 3!

Intro: LOST babbling. Is Jacob really Hurley? What’s all the talk of Lists and Candidates?

Special Guest Arturo Garcia chops it up about race in comics while discussing the DC Entertainment diversifying possibilities under the new reign of Didio, Johns, and Jim Lee.
