I have to agree with Jon about Astonishing X-Men. A storyline that has taken almost fours years to tell should have a far better finish. The story fails to explain why the bullet afftects Earth's Superheroes, nor does it explain why Spider-Man was the first to snap out of the trance. Also, there is no real reason as to why Cyclops goes back to the status quo again. And though Whedon tries to send Beast in a different direction, we all know that has been ignored by the rest of the Marvel Universe. It seems that Gavin only gave the issue an A+ because he's a Whedon fan, not because the issue was particularly good.

Welcome aboard Carissa!

I was disappointed in Final Crisis. Sure it had its moments, but mostly it felt too scattered for me to leave feeling it was the start of anything promising. But of course that's just judging it on this one issue -- and naturally there's no doubt in my mind that Grant and JG are going to make this a series worthy of the hype. Just saying it didn't start off as such...

I was also disappointed by the AXM finale, but not as much. It definitely had its moments -- not just the laughs, but very strong stuff with Kitty -- but for me it didn't justify the giant-sizing. Plus, how can they just leave Kitty like that? :O
