I saw the directors cut of Daredevil and it was OK. Even with Affleck in it was watchable and had heard off friends who saw it that it was no good, I assume they saw the studio cut. As for Ghostrider, lets just say that i am a kind, loving, gentle, peaceful man. But now i just wanna grab MSJ’ head and bash it in, BASH it right the F#@$ in! OH and sorry but real fans like their Kingpin, WHITE!!!!!!!vv

I vote denis Leary for Cassidy.
and also MSJ is not a bad director ,see the directors cut of daredevil (the STUDIO cut the entire plot out for the theatrical abomination).

I would go for Dylan McDermott as Jesse Custer. Don’t know about anyone else, maybe Tea Leoni as Tulip…by the way, has ANYONE heard anything solid about this, instead of rumours going about all the time?

I have no idea who they’re going to get to play Cassidy, but I hope they tap Robert Carlyle for the part. As far as Jessie Custer, I think Ben Affleck shouldn’t be tapped with a ten foot pole, he could never pull it off. I don’t care how many execs he brown noses. Over all, I hope they stay true to the story, it’s probably my favorite comic to date.

If Ennis is as involved as he says he is and they keep it true to the books, it would be hard for even Johnson to screw the story up. I am really concerned about casting though.

Mark Steven Johnson is the worst choice for this project. Who in their right mind casts Affleck as Matt Murdock and Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider. These were both terrible choices. This guy is a hack and I can’t believe they still let him make movies. By the way I am the guy they are interviewing in this video. Garth is really cool and he has to say all that polite bs about the director.

this is great news, mainly because johnson won’t have any restrictions at HBO. the only thing that could hurt this is poor casting, like the idea of having affleck in a preacher movie as jesse custer(this was a possibility during the late 90’s). johnson is a good director and the only thing I disliked about daredevil was jennifer garners acting(and i am an alias fan, she just was wrong for elektra. If you read frank miller you might be disappointed but i felt that way about marv the first few times in sincity, having read his story a week before seeing the film. daredevil was surprisingly violent for a pg13 movie, had a good plot, pacing and ending. roger ebert even said he liked it more than the spiderman movies. simon birch is also the perfect example of why mark steven johnson is perfect for preacher. but if it was a comic first, he would get bashed for not making it right. and bryan singer screwed up plenty of x-men stuff(mainly rogue’s character and pyro’s)but that doesn’t mean those are bad film’s.

Oh dear, one would have thought that people would have buried Mark Steven Johnson alive for unleashing the dual-abominations of Daredevil and Ghost Rider on the world but instead they reward him with his own HBO show. People are kooky in the brains.

Also, this show will be canceled after airing only five episodes, Johnson will go on to direct the Avengers movie for Marvel.
