Great, cool, Onslaught was one of the best villain that Marvel ever came up with. And I think its great they got Loeb to right it. But who’s the moron at Marvel that keeps giving Liefeld work? Please stop. It really hurts to look at his artwork.

Hmm…A great enemy, parallel universes that collide, heroes reborn? Haven’t we seen this one two many times? Didn’t they already do this and call it The Age of Apocalypse? Marvel needs to get a clue–and some originality wouldn’t hurt either. Onslaught was a huge disaster the first time around…Do we really need to repeat it on a new crop of unsuspecting fans? And with Liefeld nonetheless….

Looks great!! Unlike some of the other posters I actually like Heros Reborn, and liked the original Onslaught stuff so It’s a complete win for me!

My guess is if you don’t like it your a fan of the older era of comics..I grew up with the image style and frankly I’m no bag fan of what came before it’s time..so this is the knockdown style I like.

Here we go again. Sheesh, it doesn’t seem to matter what blog or message board I go onto, the trolls show up en mass. No Joe, what’s sad is seeing all the trolls come out every time a Liefeld related post gets put up. I know there are people who utterly hate Liefeld for whatever reason (I think it’s plain old snobbery in my opinion). But I have a feeling you guys are in the minority judging by the sales numbers for Liefeld related titles. There are LOTS of people who do like Rob’s stuff, and I’m certainly part of that crowd. Yeah, yeah, I know, you guys are going to thump your chests and let the rest of us know that you’re entitled to your opinion and all that jazz. Whatever. But enough about the Rob haters. I’m looking forward to this series big time. I’ve been itching to see Onslaught make a comeback. And with Loeb as the scribe? Awesome! The art will be amazing and we’ll all get to see the Heroes Reborn universe again which I’m really excited about. I think it would be cool to see a preview of what’s to come with a one-issue Exiles story, sort of as a prelude to the main story. I’d also like to see the adult version of Franklin make an appearance. It would be great to see him and Onslaught go at it. I wouldn’t mind seeing Nate Grey again either.

Eh……don’t worry about it, Mike. The trolls just can’t understand the fact that the artist they despise the most is STILL popular and a heavy hitter in the industry.

In fact, the one thing I love the most about Rob’s interview is how he says he loved working on Heroes Reborn, despite the fact that the fanboys hated it. They would like to delude themselves into thinking that it tanked……but it didn’t. It sold several copies and was quite popular.

Though Rob is too nice of a guy to say it, what he’s really thinking is “Yeah, I drew Heroes Reborn, it was popular, my fans loved it, other people liked it, so bite me.” :)

But you can sleep easy in the satisfaction that, despite their whining, this comic will sell lots, and it’ll be Rob laughing all the way to the bank.

I’m getting this. Damn straight. :)

Indeed. I personally love Rob’s work (always have), but too many folks get a charge off of negativity.

I’m personally excited about the upcoming series . . . and anything that keeps comics moving in the right direction (Civil War, Onslaught Reborn, Infinite Crisis, etc.) is a great thing in my book.

Oh, and for the people blinded by hatred . . . do you honestly think Marvel would sink money into a series that won’t sell? By the thousands? By the MANY thousands? Duh.

There. Now that that’s out of the way-

I’ll wait and see what can be done this time around. No sense crying doom yet, because we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg. No law that says you can’t flip through an issue in Border’s before you decide to buy it, after all.

I’m looking forward to this, hope it’s as good as Onslaught was the first time round or even better. I’ve wanted to see him return since his storyline first got me into comics years back but only if he came back even worse than before and actually caused some death among the hero community this time. Well pleased with the artist choice, think Robs arts excellent though I admit there are rare points where things can look odd, but I can live with that.

Same here. I remember reading back then when they first created Onslaught how the editors were really interested in bringing a Galactus scale enemy to the X-universe. The guy is wickedly powerful and I’m glad they decided to bring him back. Since this story will only be taking place within the limited series as opposed to within the X-titles, I’m wondering if any of the X-Men will be showing up in the story.

okay, so heroes reborn sucked and liefeld’s stuff was previously ridiculous looking. Maybe you guys haven’t seen the other stuff Marvel has done to make that alternate universe a lot cooler than just big man-breasts. I wasn’t a big fan of HR, but Liefeld’s drawings look a lot better now. I’m not going to go out of my way to find the comic, but if I see it I’m certainly going to buy it.

People hate on Rob Liefeld because it may be fashionable to be but judging from the preview pages, the art looks terrific and I look forward to this. I was one of the many people who got turned onto comics by Liefeld (and Lee, Silvestri etc) at the turn of the 90s and I have to appreciate how much he has to love the comics medium if he’s going to have to weather trolls’ prattle everytime there’s an announcement of his new work.

The first time Onslaught came around, X-Man (Nate Grey) was soundly beaten. I’m of the personal opinion that Nate Grey didn’t die against the Harvester in X-Man 75. It’s redemption time! Let the now more powerful Nate be Onslaught’s end this time. REDEMPTION!

Slightly more on-topic; I liked the original Onslaught saga. I liked its art and the scope of its story. ‘Twas awesome. If you didn’t like it, fine, but if you’re only disliking it out of some BS idealism about what a comic should be, just don’t buy it and don’t bother.

“Good” is subjective. To a great many people, the Onslaught saga was very “good.” And to many others, the saga simply wasn’t. But “good” is not written in stone.

My point was that if you’re hating on it because you don’t like it, that’s fine, but if you’re hating on it because of the sheer virtue of what is *isn’t*, then that’s not cool.

Considering it had already been 10 years since his Image days, his drawing style, anatomy only improved by a hairline. He’s just overhyped in my opinion. If you want artists whose style had evolved, look at Travis Charest and Brandon Peterson for instance.
