Again, a series I'm commenting on WAY past the date of the post, but- I rather like this series. It's nice to see shojo heroines who aren't all swoony and moe from the get-go, and actually have minds of their own. But the supporting cast do get better in later volumes, with Akira, Tadashi and even Megumi getting a lot more fleshed out as characters. (though I'm a bit bombed by the ideas of omiais for high-schoolers, a rather frequently-used device by the mangaka). I haven't read everything that's been published of this series, but it's quite good- I reckon fans of Ouran High School Host Club might like this, since they're somewhat in the same mould. And Hikari makes quite a likable heroine, actually..

I am glad that you will be there for the bitter end. I am hoping that they will do an anime series for this title sans the animal abuse.

I found Jizabel's backstory just too much for me--I really have a hard time with animal cruelty (even when it's implied), so I'm sure that's influencing my score for this volume. (I actually gave an earlier volume of the series a solid B for pure entertainment value and gorgeous art.)

That said, I like Kaori Yuki's work, and I've read all the other volumes in the series, so I'm in it to the very end.

You didn't enjoy Godchild 7? That is too bad. Now I want to see this to the bitter end. And yes, I do mean bitter. I hate what Alexis has done to his family (that even includes his sister). I hope that Cain can convince Jizabel to join him. I also hope he can break the spell on Riff. But then I this is my type of genre.
