I don’t know what happened with the Blog@Newsarama crew suddenly calling it quits, but apparently they’re moving over to Comic Book Resources. Don’t know exactly how they’ll be folded into operations there as CBR already has the Comics Should Be Good blog, but that’s a nice score for CBR however it works out. I sort of think Newsarama doesn’t really care, because in the grand the grand scheme of things they seem to be about the big mainstream picture — but Blogarama always seemed like a good addition for them because it kind of helped them speak to a segment outside their usual audience. It almost seemed like people who hated Newsarama and what it stands for could still go to Newsarama, only they were reading Blog@Newsarama.

Hmmm…. That’s a weird move for both sides, but I guess they opted for hitching another ride instead of carving their own path. I’d have been tempted to go independent if I were them, but presumably CBR is paying more than they could have generated on their own.
I don’t think there’s any significant overlap between the two blogs, though. Blog@ is kind of like what Comic Foundry wanted to be, whereas CSBG is more like a TwoMorrows publication. Both were the only sections of their respective motherships I’ve checked in on in over two years now.

Yeah, I figure besides paying more, CBR can also get them more exposure than they’d get on their own and they don’t have to mess around trying to generating either for themselves. And see, you’re the perfect example of the kind of visitor I was saying Newsarama wouldn’t get outside of Blog@

Slightly interesting to me is that the articles (comic interviews, details, etc.) are consistently a higher quality at Newsarama.
