WATCHMEN Put in Turnaround
By: Guy LeCharles Gonzalez
Variety is reporting that Paramount has put its adapatation of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons classic into turnaround:
"After two months of speculation, the studio pulled the plug on the action-adventure and put it into turnaround over the weekend. Producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin were taking the project, with British director Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Supremacy") attached, out to other studios."
The decision was attributed to Donald De Line's being replaced as studio president back in March, and the resulting scrutiny the movie's estimated $100 million budget came under as a result.
