If you’re like me, you probably already thought this whole fiasco behind Janet Jackson’s ‘nipple slip’ would have been done and over with ages ago. Well, you’re wrong. The case has actually been in the courts for YEARS.
After being argued for way too long, Philadelphia’s 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the FCC wrongly fined Jackson and has finally come to a final conclusion that sides with the pop icon and CBS. The television network will not be fined $550,000 for Janet’s notorious 2004 ‘nipplegate’ wardrobe malfunction during the Super Bowl XXXVIII broadcast performance in which Justin Timberlake exposed the singer’s boob when he “accidentally” ripped her costume. Thanks to a ruling that was made today in an appeals court, the ‘scandal’ can be finally put to rest.
Most likely, they had figure out how to close this off with the news that Madonna will be headlining the half-time show act with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj…
While I may not partake, I do love myself a good weed anthem from time to time, and college radio host-turned-MC, Chance, has come through with a nice one. Download: Chance – “Vera Wang”
Back when DOOM released the remix of “Gazillion Ear”, courtesy of Thom Yorke from Radiohead, I was certainly caught off-guard. But dammit if it didn’t grab me eventually. It was moody and understated, and the sped-up delivery from DOOM was an inspired touch. Now, the two have come teogether, yet again, with the help of Radiohead bandmate, Johnny Greenwood, for “Retarded Fren”.
Rahsaan “A Fly Guy” Alexander has been in the hip-hop game for a minute, building a name for himself as a rapper and DJ in Miami, FL. His latest offering, “Freak” (ft.Mike Beatz), definitely benefits from solid combination of lyricism and smooth production. Y’all would do well to check it out.
I wouldn’t call myself a goth-rock fan, but every once in a while, I can be down for some headbangin’. The Beijing band, Autumn Insects, won grand prize for the MusicDish*China Music Video Competition, with the video for their song, “Gothic Dream”. Definitely worth checking out, even if you don’t speak their native tongue.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Jon Bellion is a genuinely cool and humble young man. He is only twenty years old yet his unique, melodic and captivating voice balances nicely against his moving and clever rapping. As if this wasn’t enough, Jon both composes and produces all of his music himself; from writing the lyrics, to the beats and the mixing. By the end of high school, Jon was investing all of his time and energy into his music and decided to attend the highly esteemed college of music and the performing arts, Five Towns College. By living on campus, Jon positioned himself in a “hot bed” of artists who shared the same passion and goals. Here, Jonathan grew as an artist and further developed his skills of producing and performing, thus establishing “Beautiful Mind Entertainment.”
Combining exceptional talent and fearless ambition, Jon Bellion is developing what he refers to as a “movement” with the launching of his project, “Beautiful Mind” that has no intentions of following the norm. “It’s not cool to be negative or stupid. We live in a time that needs enlightenment, especially with expression through music” he says. “We’re here for anyone with a beautiful mind.” His unique approach to music has afforded him the opportunity to showcase his sound at exclusive, high profile events such as the Presidential Inner Circle Pre-Grammy Party that took place in Hollywood, California. His song “Moped Girl” was also spotlighted on NBC radio’s “Tha Juke Joint” show.
