Thanks for the heads up! I've placed my pre-order for this book.

As much as I enjoyed THE INCREDIBLES I cringe at Frozone's wife's non-appearance. Hopedully there is a section on the images of Black women in animation.

“Other Heroes: African American Comics Creators, Characters, and Archetypes" is great...pick it up today!

This is a good excuse to mention the awesome catalog from the 2007 Jackson State University art exhibit, "Other Heroes: African American Comics Creators, Characters, and Archetypes," mentioned earlier in this blog. The catalog is a full color several hundred page oversize paperback with a great deal of impressive art, of course, and also a bunch of wonderful essays about pioneers and the growth of black comics. Order from www.lulu.com.
