This is a public service announcement for all you wotakus living south of the Mason-Dixon line: the inaugural NerdaCon 2007 is almost here! What is NerdaCon, you ask? It’s a one-day celebration of all things geek, from anime, manga, and comics to video games, horror movies, and cosplay. Here’s the 411:

WHEN: Saturday, March 24th. Doors open at 10:00 AM; the event runs until 11:00 PM.
WHERE: Davidson Student Center @ Columbus State University (Columbus, GA)
ORGANIZED BY: The Campus Nerds

Among the day’s highlights: guest appearances by the Pantheon High creative team, cosplay contests, martial arts demonstrations, manga giveaways, a dealer room and artists’ alley, and a Gears of War tournament. Who are the Campus Nerds, you ask? Tokyopop blogger and group den mother undine explains the organization’s purpose:

Campus Nerds is a nondiscriminatory group that accepts anyone who has an interest in anything nerdy like anime, manga, video games, science fiction, horror, card games, and others. We are the biggest organization at CSU and we have only been around for five months. We participate in almost every event in our school and many in our community. We are now trying to go national and get other students interested in creating a branch at other schools.
