I have the biggest man-crush on Branagh in the world, don’t me wrong. Dead Again is quite possibly my favorite movie, ever. But I do feel that Marvel went from this place of satisfied power, to having to prove themselves again. Right after Iron Man, everything they announced had the aura of a sure thing. Now, they need to rebuild that faith, which the Sam Jackson announcement goes a far way to doing, I think.

Sam jackson as Nick Fury? Yikes…

I’d like to go on the record that I’m GLAD Snakes On a Plane isn’t doing a Marvel icon like Nick Fury. He has a niche we all enjoy, but not in here, let’s be honest. ; )

On top of that, in all of the world and it’s bounty our first thought for Nick Fury was Sam Jackon? Even physically, I think he’s a foul choice. If we we were doing Ultimate Nick Fury, let’s consider Laurence Fishburne, or anyone more militant and bulky please? Gimmie Tay Diggs after he’s smoked 3 cartoons of marlborro’s. Try that before we cast Sam Jackson as Nick Fury!

What about Kenneth Branagh directing the Thor movie? That should be worth something. Or do you think it’s gonna end up like the Hulk movie, in that it’s just ok? It can’t be taht hard to screw up, can it :( ?

Warner Brothers did move the next Harry Potter Movie from last Holiday season and Twilight swooped in to take the weekend.

Lions Gate made the Spirit also but I don’t think the General public know thats DC.

Flamed! I guess I should clarify that, regardless of whether Marvel Movies made it or not, the public view (or, if you will, the outside baseball view) sees all Marvel characters as the same.

Most of this stuff is far more about public perception, than actual reality. I personally think Marvel Movies is doing totally fine.
