I didn’t think this series was too gorey at all, so hopefully you’d like it. It’s also short, these three volumes are all there are of it.

Ugh! I can’t pick up ANOTHER series….but this one sounds so good, and it seems right up my alley. I love ghost stories and mysteries. I’m just not a fan of gore, so I’ve steered clear of Yamazaki’s work.

Definitely! The short length leaves us wanting more and having nothing but good memories about it. If it had gone on it could’ve dragged and gotten worn out. I still think it could have gone a little longer though, mainly because I’d like to see more of the girl from the third volume.

But you’re right John. Good to know when to get off stage and all that.

I agree that Mail was too short, but I also think it is better to go out with a bang, than fade away. It’s theme was traditional and modern Japanese ghost stories, and it was going to run out of material sooner or later.

Now this sounds like something I would like. I will have to put it on my list of books to read. I am not into horror per se but I will give something that sounds like a thriller a try. I love mysteries and thrillers.

I am also a fan of the two page spreads. The seem to contain more drama than single pages or small panes. Have you reviewed Kurosagi? I think I have seen it around but never picked it up.

I can kind of understand that. I actually came too Kurosagi through Mail, so I think I'm a bit more inclined to prefer it over Kurosagi. I think the short story format works a bit better in Mail than Kurosagi too. Maybe something about having only one main character lends itself to the vignette format more than a group..?

I know this will be heresy to some, but I actually liked Mail better than Kurosagi. I'm not sure I could put my finger on why, though I agree with you that the artwork is a little more polished in Mail.
