Meet-Up with Vertical Books in New York City

By: Michelle Smith

Ed Chavez, the new Marketing Director at Vertical Books is hosting an informal meet-up tomorrow evening starting at the Kinokuniya in New York City at 6:30pm, which will move to Bryant Park across the street
after the store closes, weather permitting. Ed is providing free snacks and soft drinks.

Ed plans to talk about seinen and josei manga, the Guin Saga, light novels, and manga magazines. This is a good opportunity to welcome Ed to New York City, as he just moved here from San Francisco last month for his new job. Feel free to ask him any questions you might have about Vertical Books or about manga in general. Jason Thompson, author of Manga: The Complete Guide, has called Ed one of the top five North American manga experts.

Ed Chavez has hosted the MangaCast podcast since 2005, creating an impressive 366 episodes. He has also translated manga titles into both English and Japanese and writes for Otaku USA magazine.
