Monthly InuYasha Starting in July?

9781421522203In using my trusty Amazon Advanced Search Function, I found something interesting. Now, keep in mind that Amazon is sometimes wrong, but this is interesting nonetheless.

Volume 38 of InuYasha is currently slated for a July 14, 2009 release.

I don’t see listings for volumes 39 and 40 yet, but beginning with volume 41, there’s this:

Volume 41 – October 13, 2009
Volume 42 – November 11, 2009
Volume 43 – December 8, 2009
Volume 44 – January 12, 2010

Which makes me think that perhaps we’ll see volumes 39 and 40 in August and September, respectively. Interesting, no? Is Viz trying to burn off the rest of InuYasha before Takahashi’s new series, KIN-NE, starts coming out?

Some other tidbits of interest:

Some new Haikasoru licenses?
Book of Heroes by Miyuki Miyabe – October 20, 2009
Yukikaze by Chohei Kambayashi – January 19, 2010

And a big delay for Skip Beat!? Could this mean it’s going into Shojo Beat?

Skip Beat!, Vol. 18 – May 5, 2009
Skip Beat!, Vol. 19 – October 6, 2009

Sorry to say that the Shojo Beat magazine is no longer circulating after the June issue. So that’s not the reason for the longer wait for Skip Beat.

Yeah, I gathered as much when the Shojo Beat news came out this week. I suppose it’s just getting close to catching up to the Japanese releases.
