@Connie - hehe, too be honest, I wasn't pleased with the Akira Movie especially because I read the Manga first which is incredibly in depth where the movie crams everything.

I am a huge manga snob too but I can attest to the Law of Ueki anime being probably the best one I have seen so far. I did watch it Subbed, which is much better than dubbed but that is a whole other fight within itself.

You've now made me want to watch FotNS now because it sounds like something I could watch on MST3K and that is exciting. Also, if Gene Simmons is in DMC the Movie, I might just have to watch it back to back with Detroit Rock City.

I'm pretty much a manga snob, too. I have some "old favorites" of anime that I still contemplate watching, and I am very excited that CLAMP Campus Detectives is finally coming out on DVD, but other than that, it's manga for me. :)

Oh man, I almost never watch anime. I always feel like I'm getting the superior version of the story when I read the manga, and I tend to be horribly disappointed when the story is condensed or change for a 26-episode series. Tenjho Tenge was the last one I watched, and it was horrible compared to the manga. I am a huge manga snob, though, so maybe I'm just not enjoying anime for the right reasons.

Let's see, what else... I hated the Akira movie, I had a hard time understanding what was going on. It probably would have made all the difference in the world if I had read the manga first.

In order to sink myself further in a hole, I will attest to finding the Fist of the North Star movie really rad. It had great effects at the beginning that really nailed some of the violence from the manga. It does become unwatchable as it goes on, but it has a great ending. I'm kind of hoping the Dragonball movie will be a lot like that, though Dragonball doesn't have the ridiculous violence that made FotNS entertaining.

I'm also looking forward to the Detroit Metal City movie that came out in Japan last year. It's got Gene Simmons in it and everything!
