Okay, I first saw (and quickly skim-read) Portus at a Half-Price Books store, and I realized that it kind of actually deserved to be there. The storyline was a bit…to put it bluntly, stupid.
I also thought that the ending “lesson” was way too cliched. However, the smallest twist on the very last page is the only thing that wants me to read it again.
Even so, the original details itself were very refreshing from other horror manga that starred some simplicity. I do admit that The Ring is a wonderful horror SEQUEL.

I never thought about the pixelation that way, but yeah.. as you pointed it out it turned up once and stuck out like a sore thumb. Ah well..

I was wondering if the pixelation was meant to tie-in to the video game motif, but it wasn't used anywhere else. I reviewed it here, but I wish I'd read yours before buying it.

Dead Wet Girl is a term I first really came across in “J-Horror” by David Kalat. It’s basically his catch all term for movies along the lines of the “The Ring” or “Ju-On.”

There’s not a whole lot of gore in this, at least I didn’t think so, then again I’m a big horror fan so hey, that’s me.

Ok, I am not a “horror or totally gore” fan. Though I like blood (in measure) in my stories if it is called for; I am not sure about this one. What is “Dead Wet Girl”? I do not believe I have ever heard this term before. … I this being released by VIZ????? That is shocking.
