One interesting note: back in December, Jarred of MangaCast “opined” that “Princess is the new vampire.” Looking at the review numbers, Jarred’s prediction hasn’t quite come true. Vampire-themed titles outnumbered princess-themed titles in the first quarter of 2007, at least in our very unscientific sample. But don’t dismiss the tiara-wearing set just yet; the next few months promise a slew of girl-centric titles, from the first volumes of Princess Resurrection, Murder Princess, and My Dearest Devil Princess, to the second installments of Kilala Princess and Kitchen Princess.
