Manga Recon Report Card, 1/07 – 3/07

Posted by: Katherine Dacey on April 2, 2007 at 7:35 am

Looking for a good read? Want the scoop on a hot new series? Then look no further. Here is a link-tastic, by-the-numbers guide to PCS manga reviews from the first three months of 2007.

One interesting note: back in December, Jarred of MangaCast “opined” that “Princess is the new vampire.” Looking at the review numbers, Jarred’s prediction hasn’t quite come true. Vampire-themed titles outnumbered princess-themed titles in the first quarter of 2007, at least in our very unscientific sample. But don’t dismiss the tiara-wearing set just yet; the next few months promise a slew of girl-centric titles, from the first volumes of Princess Resurrection, Murder Princess, and My Dearest Devil Princess, to the second installments of Kilala Princess and Kitchen Princess. Stay tuned for round two!
