Mama’s Boyz: Home Schoolin’

Posted by: Rich Watson on August 12, 2007 at 3:46 pm

Jerry Craft’s second Mama’s Boyz collection is now available – and he’s going on tour! Behold the press release:

Greetings all,

Just want to let you know that I have published a new Mama’s Boyz book called Mama’s Boyz: Home Schoolin’!!! And it’s even bigger and better than the first. It’s 112-pages of my award-winning comic strip, stories, a section on how I draw, and even a story with author Eric Jerome Dickey in cartoon form! Below is info on the book, my tour schedule (NY, NJ and Chicago), plus news on an award that I am up for (so please vote). The book is available through my website via PayPal or mail order. It will be available through Baker and Taylor soon, so you should be able to order via credit card through sites such as such as Barnesandnoble.com and Amazon.com.

With my first book, most people told me that they didn’t think I needed any help. They were wrong!!! I can’t do this without support, so please pass this around to anyone who you think would be interested in the book or one of my free cartooning workshops! And remember with all the spam you guys have sent me over the years, don’t pick now to get selective about what you pass on. :)

And I’d love any info on other opportunities for signings, press…

Thank you,
Jerry Craft

BOOK REVIEW
“Jerry has ‘crafted’ a book of his comic strips chock full of real people and poignant messages. Accessible to everyone, it provides hours of discussion between those young and older, across ages, races, and other ‘borders’ both real and imagined. Right there along with an apple a day, try a comic strip a day! — Elise Klein, President and Founder, Teachers Against Prejudice

Looks like the African American Literary Awards Show has a bunch of categories – and for graphic narrative, only “comic strip.” Guess they mean a comic strip in a newspaper, right? Perhaps they ought to add a “graphic novel” category.
