Disney is apparently planning a remake of the classic 80s film Adventures In Babysitting, to star Raven Symone. For those who haven’t seen the original film (first of all, slap yourselves!), the story revolves around a teenage babysitter who has to venture through various urban areas of Chicago to help her best friend, with the twelve year-old girl she’s babysitting, the girl’s older brother, and his best friend. . . . hilarity ensues.

I can only assume the tentative title Further Adventures in Babysitting implies that this new film will make all the characters and circumstances totally different from the original. Because let’s face it, there’s no recapturing the magic of such classic moments as the gang confrontation on the L-train. I can’t see “That’s So Raven”-Symone pulling a knife out of someone’s foot and saying “Don’t f*** with the babysitter!” Not to mention the hilarious subplot involving the babysitter bearing an uncanny resemblance to a Playboy centerfold. Would a magazine like Playboy even exist in the reality of a Disney live-action movie?
