I totally agree with you Robert.

The alleged core of Civil War is a collage of moments designed to make you go "oooo" while the thousands of other titles are where you must look for any kind of sustance.

Great idea. Choppy and shallow execution.

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that exhilarating splash pages aside, Civil War is a big tease. Time to put out, Millar, or I'll find another writer who will.

at this point, the big question: is will the civil war pay off? thinking about all the money i've sunk into this crossover, its still very difficult to gauge what the finished product will be like with all of the crossovers lined up and organized on my shelf. the big reason for my continued loyalty to this series is to see how everything wraps up- from the first issue it seemed impossible to reconcile this event back into marvel continuity. we're approaching the final issue, and although the pseudo-political implications of the registration act have been expounded upon ad-nauseum, very little has actually happened. so now the stage is set for a big blow-out battle, but no exactly a satisfying ending. at this point, millar can either surprise me and make the whole thing worth it, or he can deliver a pretty cool battle and hastily wrap up the story, thus destroying any goodwill he has earned from the ultimates. clock's ticking, buddy.

Civil War is a pox on Marvel. It infects nearly every Marvel book, to the point where, even if you dont want to, you have to read CW because guess what? Its showing up in your book.
It seems like Mark Millar has written this book around a few "cool" scenes he came up with. Every issue, there's about 26-30 pages of filler, with about 4 pages of something cool. While I wasnt crazy about HOM, at least that mini didnt infect other Marvel titles. Everything was kept seperate, in their own mini's.
