Six Days in Fallujah, a new title will based on the conflict that claimed the lives of 38 soldiers and 1,200 insurgents. Developed by Atomic Games, known for working on military combat simulation software, will be including videos, photos and diaries from the U.S. Marines who took part in the conflict making up the core of the narrative.
“For us, the challenge was how do you present the horrors of war in a game that is also entertaining, but also gives people insight into a historical situation in a way that only a video game can provide?” Atomic Games president Peter Tamte said. “Our goal is to give people that insight, of what it’s like to be a Marine during that event, what it’s like to be a civilian in the city and what it’s like to be an insurgent.”
Director Juan Benito: their aim is to “broaden the scope of what’s considered entertaining in a shooting game,” saying, “You can have entertainment that’s not just about violence, or just about Care Bears and rainbows.”
Six Days in Fallujah is set to be released in 2010 for the PS3, 360 and PC.
