“Fluff my nest”? “FLUFF MY NEST”?!

Ye gods.

Would someone please explain the appeal of this Michael Turner person, please. I just can’t wrap my head around it. I’ve tried to be tolerant of this limited individual and I’ve tried to convince myself that comic book buyers/publishers are just humouring him but I think I have to say something. Do you have to be on crack before your brain can perceive his “work” as anything other than pure shit?

Someone like Adam Hughes is getting away with making a living by only doing covers because…um, he’s very talented (yes, he only draws huge jugs but if you look past that there’s obviously genius at work). But now this walking turd of an “artist” is getting away with the same thing and people are letting him. What’s wrong with you all?

Please do me a favour and just compare the face of Red Arrow from the cover with the interiors done by Ed Benes. Stare at them for a long time until your eyes start to hurt. Do you see that? Yeah, Michael Turner has the artistic skill of a fucking high school student. Yes, you live in a world where a grown-ass man who draws like a 14 year old gets paid (with money) to produce variant covers for comics. Variant covers which you all lap up like Ethiopian toddlers lap up free rice. Shame on you.

P.S. My favouritest Michael Turner cover has to toadally be that way cool one for Identity Crisis with the white background and all the superhero capes hanging on the wall. Sheer fucking brilliance.
