I am somewhat hesitant of the new group. the membership seems to large and i will never like hal jordan.still, red arrow, vixen, red tornado, canary and black lightning are great choices. as whedon told wizard “guess what, if i need superspeed i have superman for that so the flash seems pretty pointless.” that was paraphrased but very close to whedons words of truth. I’ve always found flash to have very meek powers for a dc character, unlike marvel current speedsters. one can timetravel and create a superhuman army the other can blow up what seems to be practically anything(half of U.N. building).martian manhunter is missed, though I feel he is only gone because he and red tornado’s personalities are to similair. would be interesting seeing to such similair heroes interact though. maybe when a faster writer hits the title. I don’t know much about geo-force but he sounds cool from his wikipedia page. I would rather have big barda there than hawkgirl as a more powerful and interesting character and a nod of the head to morrisson’s league. It would also give meltzer a chance to write mr.miracle, a character he couldn’t fit in. but hawk is obviously there to draw in the watchers of the JLU tv series. now for the flaws:after issue one the series got very decompressed, the art went from great to average, its quite morbid in places, the villains are either hit or miss and michael turners covers are quite awful. how does that guy keep getting work. My final thought will depend on the payoff of the first arc. I could be surprised. Its like galactica. I felt the show was starting to get a little stagnant and then the last two episodes just wowed me all over again. olmos is a great director.
