I swear, with every new role Jet Li takes, his declaration of “retirement” from martial arts films loses more of its meaning. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Li is in negotiations to play the villain in The Mummy 3. Rob Cohen is directing the film, working from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

If you’re not gonna do martial arts “epics” anymore, that’s fine. But why attach yourself to a burnt out franchise that wasn’t all that great to begin with? Although, the inclusion of living terracotta warriors sounds pretty damn cool.
