“It can’t rain all the time…”

.. but it sure did rain today. That’s right, true believers, I’m still in New York as of this writing, on account of all the rain we got this morning and afternoon. My flight was supposed to leave at 5, with a connection in Kansas City, but it was delayed by three hours, which meant I would’ve missed that Kansas City connection. So now I’m gonna catch an early morning flight tomorrow.
This woman on line behind me with her mom was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, I swear. Apparently, she had an opportunity to take an earlier flight and she declined; I forget the reason why. She kept saying to her mom, “Why don’t we take a different flight,” and her mom kept telling her there’s no way they can change flights, not with so many flights backed up. At the most, all I’m losing is some extra sightseeing time, which sucks, but it’s better than missing the con.
It’s stopped raining now, and the sun even managed to break through briefly on the bus ride home, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. The forecast tomorrow, I’m told, is partly sunny. We shall see.
In the meantime, stare in amazement at this Sergio Aragones convention poster from 1972 (stolen from Mark Evanier’s blog). Not quite on-topic here, but so what.
