He’s made quite a name for himself as “the man your man could be if he smelled like Old Spice”, but Isaiah Mustafa has definitely been putting himself out there as an actor, and making it well-known that he’d like to take on the Marvel character, Luke Cage. Such a project has yet to pull itself out from “development hell”, But sometimes it just takes all the right pieces to fall into place to really get the ball rolling. Could Mustafa be one of those pieces?

For an audition vid, he certainly seems to be taking it seriously. He’d need to pack on a bit more muscle, but I certainly wouldn’t write him off. In fact, the only time I got the “Old Spice Pitchman” vibe from him was when he turned to look at some white lady he had just loved down!!! Given the context, I’ll forgive him!
