Isabella on BL and Misty

Posted by: Rich Watson on February 19, 2010 at 11:18 am

There’s a reason why I include creator credits in the Best Male and Female Character categories in the GCA nominees. I feel it’s important to be reminded where these characters, some of whom are decades old, came from. (Most of the time the male nominees are corporate characters while most of the female nominees are creator-owned ones. Make of that what you will.) In his online column today, Tony Isabella talks about Black Lightning and Misty Knight, two creations of his up for awards this year. He sounds like he’s got mixed feelings about the whole thing, which is certainly understandable, though that hasn’t diminished his support for the GCAs in general, for which I’m grateful.
