Imagia and the Magic Pearls

Just received a press release forwarded to me from Howard here at PCS about this fantasy children’s book that’s looking to capture some of the market for The Princess and the Frog. The release says more about the Disney movie, the Liar controversy and, predictably, President Obama than the book itself, which is unfortunate and not a very smart way to write a press release, if you ask me. I had to Google up this video interview with creator Monroe Tarver to find something more substantial. (WARNING: Video contains excessively peppy and highly irritating morning talk show hosts!!) The website has no excerpt from the book, so I don’t have much to go on with this except the illustrations, which are certainly very good. Tarver is from Charlotte – perhaps someone in that area familiar with him and/or his book can vouch for him? Anyway, the book comes out in November; hopefully by then there’ll be some reviews on the interwebs somewhere.
